Membrane Recycling Service is a Drive to Achieve Waste Reduction and Reduced Reliance on Landfill.
As a proud partner in the Newton Specialist Basement Contractor (NSBC) network, Premier Contractors are delighted to be involved in the first “back-to-base” membrane recycling service in the structural waterproofing service.
The tailor-made recycling facility means that, via Newton, we will actively recycle off-cuts of virgin and recycled HDPE from commercial and domestic construction sites throughout the UK.
In its first full year of membrane recycling, the scheme saved 3.255 tonnes of membrane from landfill, preventing 3.74 tonnes of C02 from entering the atmosphere, and generating 14,616 kWh of energy.
That’s equal to 519,690 mugs of tea!
Peter Willis of Premier Contractors, said,
“We are very proud of our NSBC status and keen to support this terrific scheme as we share Newton’s commitment to recycling involving all parties involved in the construction process.
“The process ensures that HDPE membrane systems will be installed in the most efficient manner with continuous focus on quality and minimal wastage.
“Specifiers and end clients should look for the NSBC Membrane Recycling Service logo on vehicles and literature as a mark of quality assurance that the HDPE membranes are being recycled and not sent to landfill.”
