When Rising Damp has been identified and a new Dampproof Course has been installed, the walls and lower regions of old plaster are usually left damaged through contamination by ground salts. The damp rises within the moisture by capillary action through the brick or stone.
As the wall dries out, the salts surface and attract moisture within the atmosphere, necessitating removal of the contaminated plaster and salt contaminated brick or stone.
After installation of a new Dampproof course, the wall will remain damp for a while, and applying our specialist plaster will ensure that the dampness and salts does not impact your new wall surfaces.
